This painting was one of my first oil paintings. It took me about a year to complete. I wanted to make sure I got all of the details and light when only using a green color scale for the subject.

I loved the colors in a picture I took, so when drawing this, I made sure to bring out the green in contrast to the black. My favorite part is how the wooden pen in the writers hand stands out.

This painting was a gift to a friend. It is a scene from a canoe trip we took together. It shows a group of canores coming around a bend in the lake. I like how the trees and bushes open up to show the canoers.

I wanted to paint this picture of time square in New York in a post-impressionism style. So the buildings do not have clear lines, and the people are vague, but distinguishable.
